Mohammad Latif who lives on Hamidullah's genoresity. He is not a servant but which position he occupies is not of an equal. He is a gentle, happy and dishonest old man. He does not speak unnessary. In his life he has never done any work. His wife lives some hundred of miles away from him. He does not visit his wife due to the railway ticket. So, we can that Latif is indifferent about his life.
