Miss Ferdous, at first i'd like to welcome you in the forum...
My personal opinion regarding this matter is quite positive. You prepare all your lesson stuffs when you appear for quizes...and this preparation culminates into a semester final preparation... But, as we know, every good thing has a bad side of its own. As we get little time for preparing the lessons and by that time quizes occur frequently, we just memorize the stuffs rather than having a good idea about it...
And, I am sorry but, to me the term "quiz" is inadequate! This thing should not be made too much flashy, and thus should be refereed as "class exams" since the patten is very much tutorial course test type... Although I'm a juvenile in these prospects but my suggestion would be,
1. Quizes should be structured in accordance with the chapters (That means if a course has 12 chapters, 12 "quizes" should be taken.)
2. No broad or semi broad questions should be added in the ques. paper.
3. More innovative questions and the stuffs that make the chapters to be read precisely should be added but should be brief.
4. Quizes should be billed as academic fun stuff and a simple way to cut out numbers, to eradicate the fear among the students. Because i feel, we like non academic quizes because the quizes are fun stuffs and you will never know that it's making ur knowledge enriched......
And lastly i feel DIU has a great potential and should bring some new ideas regarding this stuffs...And I'm sorry to my honorable authorities if I had stated any degenerated stuffs, but i think that forum is the best way to eradicate the mindset difference between the authority and the pupils.
