Cisco Systems, Inc. offers a line of vendor-specific certifications for its products. Cisco’s many credentials suit every level of IT practitioner, offering entry-level, intermediate, specialist or even expert-level credentials. Network professionals and managers who pursue any of their certifications will definitely bring value to the organizations that employ them; in particular, network engineers undergoing training to earn these certs can prove their skills and technical knowledge and are potentially headed to highly rewarding careers.

DevNet: To be added to Cisco’s certification program
The DevNet certification program is a brand-new track that embraces network professionals and software developers and potentially creates one community and the IT teams of the future. This offer supports Cisco’ mission to support intent-based networking by aligning business goals to network results; intent-based networking, in fact, is based on closing the gap between what the business really needs and what its IT infrastructure delivers. Cisco believes that the DevNet certification program can help professionals “combine infrastructure expertise with the power of programming to take advantage of the possibilities of intent-based networking.”

Cisco certifications has devised a complete overhaul of its programs in order to better validate a professional’s skills, cover the newest technologies and be in line with current job roles and today’s IT practitioners’ interests or aspirations. Cisco, in most cases, offers the ability to start where the student wants with no formal prerequisites to begin the path towards an associate, specialist, professional or expert level certification. Studying for the exams, candidates will develop a deep understanding of the various aspects of networking, while assessing their proficiency with the same Cisco technology that is so present today in most companies’ IT environments and to which most professionals will be exposed. With three-year recertification deadlines and no more continuing education administrative fee, as of February 24, 2020, Cisco is looking to streamline its offer and be more user-friendly for newer and expert professionals alike.

We’re writing to let you know about a change to Google Classroom which will be rolled out to all G Suite domains beginning today, April 17, 2019.

What do we need to know?
From April 17, 2019, any new classes created in Classroom will experience new ordering rules on the Classwork page. New topics or items posted to the Classwork page in these new classes will start to appear at the top of the page instead of the bottom. We have made this change to improve the user experience of Classroom based on teacher and professor feedback. This feature will not be supported by versions of the mobile app which are older than 2.2019.06301 on iOS and on Android.

What does this mean for my organization?
Users running mobile versions of the Classroom app older than the above mentioned versions will not see the order they set on Classroom web for their Classwork pages in new classes within the mobile apps. Additionally, assignments posted via these older mobile app versions, will not post to the top of the page.

What do we need to do?
To enable your users to view the new ordering on mobile, please update your devices (via the Play and App Stores) so that they are running the latest versions of the Android and iOS apps.
To ensure both teachers and students have a consistent experience across Classroom web and mobile, please let your teachers, professors, and students know about this feature, and encourage them to update their personal devices to the latest version of the Classroom mobile apps as soon as possible.

Dear all,

You know, Daffodil International University is one of the top graded IT based University in Bangladesh. Our one of the main correspondence system is Email. Regarding email security, last few days we are getting some news where some fraud using software, hacking email password and blackmail the email users. One of the secure option is 2-step verification.

Any of these common actions could put you at risk of having your password stolen:
• Using the same password on more than one site
• Downloading software from the Internet
• Clicking on links in email messages
2-Step Verification can help keep bad guys out, even if they have your password. Imagine losing access to your email account and everything in it. When a bad guy steals your password, they could lock you out of your account and then may do anything.

So, now it is time to use 2-step authentication as soon as possible. I am requesting you all to do it within three working days. If you face any difficulties, feel free to ask any IT people in your campus. For doing this I am attaching a guideline for enabling 2-step verification for your email account which will increase your email and data security.

2-Step Verification Guideline:

Use of email / Gmail’s Daily Limit on Sending Email
« on: May 14, 2018, 07:25:52 PM »
Gmail has certain email sending limits in place and you are only allowed to send a limited number of email messages per day. If you exceed the daily quota, Google may temporarily disable your Gmail account without any warnings and you may have to wait for up to 24 hours before you can regain access to your Gmail mailbox. Gmail has another restriction on the total number of recipients you can email per day so you cannot use CC or BCC to bypass the daily email sending limit.

Gmail isn’t designed for sending bulk email. If you are planning to send an email message to a large group of friends using Gmail, do read the following rules to avoid temporary lockdown of your Gmail:
Rule 1: You can send emails to a maximum of 500 recipients per day through the Gmail website. If you are a Google Apps for Work user, your daily limit is 10000 email recipients per day.

Rule 2: If you access Gmail via POP or IMAP clients, like Microsoft Outlook or Apple Mail, you can send an email message to a maximum of 100 people at a time. This also includes email sent through or servers. If you exceed the limit, your account may be disabled for a day with the error – “550 5.4.5 Daily sending quota exceeded.”

Rule 3: Always double check email addresses of recipients before hitting the Send button. Google will temporarily disable your account if you send messages to more than 500 recipients or if you send a large number of undeliverable messages. This often happens when people use mailing lists that contain non-existent or broken email addresses that bounce back on failed delivery.

Rule 4: You can associate multiple email addresses, included non-Gmail addresses, with your Gmail account and send emails on behalf of any of these addresses. However, when sending mail from a different address, the original account’s message limits are applied.

Rule 5: If you are sending emails through Google Script, like in the case of Gmail Mail Merge, the daily sending limit is 100 recipients per day for free Gmail accounts. The limit is 1500 per day for paid Google Apps for Work accounts.

Rule 6: If you configured mail email clients to check your Gmail simultaneously – maybe you have several phones and computers – Gmail may sometimes lock your account. This happens because all the clients download large amounts of email in the same period and Gmail will throw the ‘Lockdown in Sector 4’ error. Your account should be re-enabled within 24 hours..

Internet / Be Aware About Ransomware Attack
« on: May 14, 2017, 12:14:06 PM »
Dear all,
On Saturday to prepare for a renewed cyber-attack, convinced that a lull in a computer offensive that has stopped car factories, hospitals, schools and other organizations in around 100 countries was only temporary.

The pace of the attack by a destructive virus dubbed WannaCry slowed late on Friday, after the so-called "ransomware" locked up more than 100,000 computers, demanding owners pay to $300 to $600 get their data back. Companies rushed to protect Windows systems with patches that Microsoft released last month and on Friday. WannaCry exploited a vulnerability to spread itself across networks, a rare and powerful feature that caused infections to surge on Friday.

The worm is primarily impacting business, where it can spread quickly through a network to take down an entire company. Business take longer to install critical updates and patches, often to avoid impacting any legacy software they are running.

Few precautions:
•   First, install any software updates immediately and make it a regular habit. Turn on auto-updaters where available (Microsoft offers that option). Microsoft also recommends running its free anti-virus software for Windows.
•   If you don't already have a backup routine, start now and regularly save copies of all your files. That way if your machine gets infected and your photos and documents are encrypted, you don't need to worry about losing them.
•   Finally, always stay alert. Don't click on links that you don't recognize, or download files from people you don't know personally.

« on: April 02, 2015, 12:49:32 PM »
Dear all,
You will be happy to know that recently in our mail service 2 step verification is added for you. We have activated this service for you for securing your email. You know, 2-Step Verification adds an extra layer of security to your university email Account, drastically reducing the chances of having the personal information in your account stolen. To break into an account with 2-Step Verification, bad guys would not only have to know your username and password, they'd also have to get a hold of your phone.
Enter your password
Whenever you sign into university email you'll enter your username and password as usual.
You’ll be asked for something else
Then, you'll be asked for a code that will be sent to you via text, voice call, or mobile app. Or, if you have a Security Key, you can insert it for login.
Keep it simple
During sign-in, you can choose remember that particular computer as a trusted device. From then on, when you sign in to that computer that time you need only your password.
You'll still be secured, because when you or anyone else tries to sign in to your account from another computer, a verification code or a Security Key will be required.

Notes: Please find the attachment for taking guideline for activating your 2 step verification (if necessary).
