Climate Vulnerability... Bangladesh at highest risk

South Asia is the world's most climate-vulnerable region, its fast-growing populations badly exposed to flood, drought, storms and sea-level rise, according to a survey of 170 nations.Of the 16 countries listed as being at "extreme" risk from climate change over the next 30 years, five are from South Asia, with Bangladesh and India in first and second place.The Climate Change Vulnerability Index, compiled by a British-based global risks advisory firm, Maple croft, is intended as a guide for strategic investment and policy making."Very minor changes to temperature can have major impacts on the human environment, including changes to water availability and crop productivity, the loss of land due to sea-level rise, and the spread of disease . "Bangladesh is rated No1 because of a double whammy. It has the highest risk of drought and the highest risk of famine.It is also struggling with extreme poverty, high dependence on agriculture -- the economic sector most affected by climate change -- and a government that is the least capable of coping with climate impacts

I appreciate your post. But our country, bangladesh, I think has the potential to draw attraction of a huge majority by taking some measuries. like:

1. removing overpopulation from our country.
2. awaring people about our beauti of nature & its best use.
3. Flourish our country as much as make little little contributions.
4. making our country dust & smoke free.

I wish the best luck to our country that one day it will be the number one clean country in the world.

thanks goodboy, i appreciate with you. but who does the work?-that is the main fact. because not only we but government have to take main and important step to balance our ecology. they have to highlight about negative effects on climate change & the  to the people.

See our country is over populated country and it is really needed to aware people about climate vulnerability.This is not only responsibility of Govt but also people.with A little bit awareness we can make our country beautiful/risk free from climate vulnerability.

Thanks Mr. Roman, i appreciate with you. But you know most of the villagers are not aware about this issue.so, at first gov. have to take some step to know about this issue to the villagers.then the villagers can realize the importance of this issue. I don't say only say only gov. do the work.i just say gov. will have to take some steps where we the people of our country will play the better role.

No doubt about the matter that Bangladesh is in the most climate vulnerable region in South Asia. To overcome from this situation we have to develop national and international commitments and proper initiatives for our sustainability.
