Shamsi, take a new initiative to bring out a wall magazine from the English Department in the current semester (Spring-2012). I know you can do that. I shall provide all-out help in this regard.

I have already taken steps.This time,I have tried to train students in writing haiku and its a matter of pleasure that we have got a huge response.The Wall-Magazine team is working on it.And we hope to have the final copy by this week.We need a message from you as the head of the Dept.

Dear All,

I hope you will be happy to know that we are very near to publish our next wall-magazine (Spring 2012).And this time, it is a collection of haiku.67 selected haiku have been already hand-written by Abdullah Amim(Sameer) and Tamanna Mustafa from 16th Batch.Irin Nippu from 15th Batch with her team worked very hard on illustration part and as the supervisor, I have selected and edited the submitted haiku.

We hope to have your spontaneous feedback.

This time the wall magazine has been distinct with haikus. It has been a nice one. I thank all who have worked for it.

A great initiative madam. In Uttara campus we also had one for the Independence day. Students are really happy to have their writing on the wall magazine.

Dear All,

I would like to share all the haiku written by our students for the spring 2012 issue.There were 12 writers.I will post their haiku one by one.

Here we go:

The following haiku are written by Sadia Afrin of 14th Batch:


(1)   midnight…
        you were there
        in a dream

(2)   wearing a blue saree
        standing before me
        my loving mom

(3)   small face
        eyes full of abomination
        a street boy

(4)   smile on his face
        wants to win the world
        my son’s photo


(5)   nest on the tree
        two small birds
        chirp and chirp

(6)   3:00 am
        shuddering in the dark
        watching a horror movie

(7)   pink,red and white
        a bunch of flowers
        in my flower vase

The following haiku are written by Irin Nippu  of 15th Batch who has also worked very hard with her team to bring out Message,spring,2012.

Here we go:

(1)   wind wallops on face
        she floats
        in a cold hot air balloon

(2)   rain drops
        falling and falling
        cleaning away the earth
             
(3)   a rainbow
        leaning to the ground
        kissing  the blue grass flower

(4)   ice melts
        on her lips
        nature shivers

(5)   butterflies hurdle
        flower to flower 
        colors dance and melt

(1)   winter season
        nude nature
        a hopeless person

(2)   a slum boy
     with some rose
     a great expectation

(3)    an old man
    a sunset
      a sigh

(4)   every man
      every morning
      a new hope
 

(5)     i hurt you
        you hurt me
         can we love?


(6)     a mother
        a child
       a dream

(7)    an old woman
      sodium light
    a cold night

(8)   a poor family
       a new born girl
       another frustration


(9)   a moonlit night
      a couple
      some moments

(10)    an employee
       end of the month
      taking his salary

(11)    midnight
         dogs barking
         a dead body

(12)   family
     some person, some happiness
     some sorrow, some dreams


Here we have only 12 though Saddam had got more in his store...:-)
