The French Medical Institute for Children (FMIC) was founded in 2006
in a unique public-private partnership between the Governments of
Afghanistan & France, a French NGO – La Chaine de L’Espoir/Enfants
Afghans and the Aga Khan Development Network through the Aga Khan
University Hospital. The Institute has risen to the challenge of
charting a course towards sustainable health solutions for
Afghanistan. The French Medical Institute for Children provides modern
pediatric surgery and will later offer obstetrics and neonatology
services in order to contribute to the international effort to reduce
maternal and infant mortality

Closing date: 23 May 2009
Location: Afghanistan - Kabul


Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will :

Coordinate the preparation of vacancy announcements in consultation
with the concern Head, renew and submit the vacancy announcements and
keep strong liaison with the advertising agencies.
Provide advice and support on recruitment and staff selection system
along with identification of a required candidate profile;
Review and screen applications, provide list of applications;
Coordinate the short-listing and interviewing activities;
Prepare job offers to successful candidates in line with the
compensation guidelines of the institution and keeping an eye on
internal equity. Perform reference check;
Verify & follow-up for credentialing of the hospital staff.
Maintain & check personal files on regular basis and keep due confidentiality.
Introduce and maintain proper filing system.
Assist in the design of the Job description and maintain all the job
descriptions of the staff.
Design & initiate various recruitment related reports.
Manage staff separation.

Candidates should possess:

High school graduated preferably Bachelors Degree from recognized
institution or university in Human Resources
1 to 2 years of experience in the field of HR.
Familiarity with human resource policies and practices particularly
with respect to recruitment & selection.
Ability to solve complex issues and propose creative solutions.
Ability to contribute to the streamlining and automation of the
recruitment process.
Ability to plan and prioritize own work programme under tight
deadlines, as well as to work on own initiative and as a member of a
team.
A high degree of tact, diplomacy and discretion, and proven ability to
maintain confidentiality.
Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated by the ability to lead and
gain the assistance/cooperation of others, as well as the ability to
work effectively with people of different national and cultural
backgrounds with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
Strong customer orientation, including the ability to develop and
maintain effective working relationships with counterparts and other
departments.
