A BIOGRAPHY OF ABDUL MONEM
Abdul Monem (1937 – 2020) was one of the famous Bangladeshi industrialists. He has made many important contributions to the business. For this, the government of Bangladesh gave him the title of an important person from a commercial point of view. He died on 31 May 2020. Abdul Monem was a founding chairperson and managing director of Abdul Monem Limited. He founded the company in 1958. His two sons also managed the company successfully with him. The group owns Igloo Ice Cream and is the official butler of Coca-Cola in Bangladesh. At present one of his sons, Mr. A.S.M. Mainuddin Monem is the managing Director (MD) of the company and another son Mr. A.S.M. Mohiuddin Monem is working as an Additional Managing Director. The main strength of our organization is to mobilize resources for large scale infrastructure projects i.e. financing by Word Bank, ADB, JICA, etc., and to be able to bear the initial risks related to these projects and to prove this. In a very short period of time, the company has not only built an experienced factory to meet international and service standards, but it is now the owner of a Coca-Cola bottle and the number one ice cream maker. It is currently the manufacturer of dairy products, igloo food ingredients and snacks, pharmaceuticals and auto bricks, bitumen, and other selected construction materials. He is also the founder of AM Sugar Refinery Ltd., AM Rice Bran Oil), Service Engine BPO, AM Securities and Financial Services Ltd., etc.
In 2015, he was awarded to him for building the Abdul Monem Economic Zone. This company has created employment opportunities for many people. The company has grown the company in a strong and dynamic way by building strength and character among business partners, associates, and stakeholders.
