There are times in applied research when the necessary information needed for an analysis
resides in two more data sets. The solution to this problem is merging the relevant data sets
together. This can be accomplished in SPSS using the Data menu choice. There are three types
of merging that SPSS can carry out: (1) adding cases; (2) adding variables; and (3) transposing
the data set.
