« on: June 15, 2010, 10:47:18 PM »
Dear All,

English is the first language in the world. Without having proper knowledge in English, nowadays, it is very much difficult to get good job. Your CGPA does not matter, it is only required for apply in particular field. You have to prove yourself that you the person who deserve that post/position. You have to face written exam, viva and many other things according to organization’s policies. And you should remember that in the job market you have to compete with only DIU students but also there IBA, NSU, EWU, IUB,, AIUB,UIU, DU, RU, JU,KU and National University’s students. So, now yours duty to assess yourself what’s your position. Are you fit for the job market??????????

Always we plan that we do SPOKEN COURSE, we talk with friend circle in English, but we never introduce it. We are very much expert in planning but not in implementing. We are used sit in the Dhanmondi Lake, different shopping malls, Zia Uddan and very much expert in gossiping in Bangla, but we never think that we can gossip in English. Besides this, we can introduce talking in English in the class room inside the University. We should remember that practice make a man perfect. At the beginning may we face lot problems but after a certain time period we will success without any confusion.

So, my request to all the student of DIU please every day follow the following tips ..

1.   Read any English book, news paper etc for 15 to 20 minutes and search the meaning of unknown word and write it down.
2.   Write one or two page on any topic.
3.   Listen different IELTS CDs, instate of song, 15 to 20 minutes.
4.   Speak in English when you meet with friends and others.

I am sure that if anyone follows this then he/she can recognize his/ her position. Only the one hour can change his/ her patter.  His vocabulary will enrich and he / she will enjoy many other benefits.

Very good. Mr. Moheuddin is turning to be a valuable contributor in the Forum, I see.
I think, students will be motivated more and more and will be attuned to your points.
Sensing the burning demand of English in every sphere of life, DIU has already launched two Campus Language Days when English will be uttered everywhere in and around DIU.

I comply with your points. Carry on.

Those who worship the natural elements enter darkness (Air, Water, Fire, etc.). Those who worship sambhuti sink deeper in darkness. [Yajurveda 40:9]; Sambhuti means created things, for example table, chair, idol, etc.

An environment can help us much. I want to view a point of our syllabus. There is no doubt about our English1 & English2 course but though why our student does not doing better. I think it is the time to think again about the technique we are following.

The importance of English & value is clear to all but the practice is too poor. There is a problem about interest. If the student feel interest then it would be easier to learn. Through learning we can not learn English but practice would be the key for success. Let us practice.

That is why, we can understand better. They often try to give lecture in English but you know it is their duty to ensure that all of his/her student understanding the lecture. If the English lecture become problem only for a student though it turn in Bangle sometimes.
Please note that, the purpose of the lecture is to understand the topic rather others.

Thank you Mr. kazi Shahin,

Maximum students come from Bangla medium school and college. Our school or college teacher provides their lecture in Bangla. Now we study in English medium university, here also we can see our maximum lectures provides their lecture in Bangla. So, there is no difference between english medium and bangla medium.

In addition, i know if our lectures speak in English in the class, some student may suffer. I strongly believe that once a day they will understand properly.

As we know, when we go for job interview, every interviewer may speak in English and i have to also speak in English there and i have to make be a good listener. So, how will i survive at job interview board?

I want to say, a lecturer may provide his lecture in English and if we need then lecturer may provide his lecture in Banglai. It is my personal opinion.

Dear All,
Mr. Moheuddin, No doubt your thinking is great. All of us should have this type of thinking. Thank you for your tips.
The techniques given by Mr. Siddiqur Rahman are also very effective. Thank you sir, for sharing your valuable techniques.
I do agree with Mr. Kazi Shahin regarding medium of class lecture. But the use of English in lectures should increase gradually.
Bidita, Yes there is gigantic importance of English Language Club but at the same time the students must have the interest about it.
Mr. Shamim Ansary already disclosed that Daffodil international University has declared Campus Language Day (Wednesday & Thursday) which focused how the authority is sincere about this.

Actually, English is everywhere and there is no alternative of English. So, all of us should serious about it.
