Model United Nations:

Model United Nations (also known as "Model UN" or simply "MUN") is an educational simulation that focuses on civics, communications, and multilateral diplomacy. During a Model United Nations conference, students take on roles as foreign diplomats and participate in a simulated session of an intergovernmental organization (IGO). Participants research a country, take on a role as a diplomat, investigate international issues, debate, deliberate, consult, and then develop solutions to world issues. During a simulation they must employ a variety of communications and critical thinking skills to defend and advance the policies of their country.


Daffodil International University Model United Nations Associations (DIUMUNA):

Daffodil International University Model United Nations Associations (DIUMUNA)” is a non-profit, voluntary youth and student movement. It is dedicated to convey the voice of young generation regarding current global issues such as MDG, human rights and development, environment, disarmament (demobilization), social justice etc. It is an excellent environment for development of organizational and leadership skills, intellectual abilities and research orientation. It imparts trainings, workshops, competitions and different brainstorming activities like participating different national and international Conferences and UN assemblies. It also maintains bilateral relations among universities beyond national borders to keep the students up-to-date with the ideas of international arena


VISSION
To construct the views and the ideas in cooperation with the purposes and principles of the DIU students’ movement and to promote the skill development activities that will enrich their career in national & international perspectives.

MISSION :

Motivate and sensitization the students in taking positive concerted actions for the global harmony, cultural interactions and the knowledge exchange & develop the youth of DIU and prepare them to be the leaders of tomorrow and to facilitate leadership tendencies among the members through the above activities.

ACTIVITIES :

The principal activities of DIUMUNA shall be-

1.  Arranging any sort of training programme that will enhance the leadership skills of the members of the organization.
2.  Commemorating major national and international issues.
3.  Organizing seminars and workshops and other social activities on the issues concerning burning global problems or on personal development.
4.  Organizing MUN & conferences at the university level.
5.  Participating in MUN & other international conferences around the world and thus enhancing the diplomatic abilities.
6.  Sensitizing the media and mobilizing the common mass specially the youth and the students regarding the issues.
7.  Carrying out research based activities at the field level.
8.  Organizing different youth related events and programs.
9.  Working in collaboration with local organizations and corporate bodies.
10.  Participating in any kind of activities that are not contrary to the aims and values of the association and the university.
