SMS for withdrawing over Tk 5000
DHAKA: Customers will receive mobile SMS (Short Message Service) from the bank concerned after withdrawing more than Tk 5000 using debit or credit cards.

Bangladesh Bank directed scheduled banks issuing notification in this regard on Tuesday.

The notification says the instruction will be made mandatory after April 14, 2014.

As per notification, as number of debit or credit card holders is on the rise, the central bank is taking measures to ensure safe transactions.

From now on, there will be two types of validation identity for every card in this regard.
