Good companies are not necessarily good investment. Compare the intrinsic value of a stock to its market value as
stock of a great company may be overpriced.

I also think an activist shareholder  is a large stakeholder who attempts to gain control of a company and replace its management. This generally occurs when the activist is dissatisfied with management..

We do not need a lot of money to start making money, unlike buying property and paying a monthly mortgage.
It requires very minimal time to trade - unlike building a conventional business. .. It’s fast cash and allows for quick liquidation (Just we can convert it to cash easily, unlike selling a property or a business). It’s easy to learn how to profit from the stock market.
But we need to have our basics clear. Unless we do….we will be wasting our time and loosing money. we need to be crystal clear of each and every aspect of Investments, stock options, Stock Trading, Company, Shares, Dividend & Types of Shares, Debentures, Securities, Mutual Funds.

Futures & Options, What does the Share Market consist of? Exchanges , Analysis of Stocks – How to check on what to buy?, Trading Terms (Limit Order, Stop Loss, Put, Call, Booking Profit & Loss, Short & Long), Trading Options – Brokerage Houses  etc.

You are right Bidita! Many of us would like to try our luck in the Stock markets because trading stocks is one of the most lucrative methods of making money. But before involved with it you must have to have basic knowledge about the market and risk associated with it. After that you may increase your knowledge by different ways if you are really serious about this area. Risk varies inversely with knowledge.

Business students are very lucky as they are offered different courses in different semester just to make them understand the stock market. Most probably, Portfolio management will be introduced in BBA very soon by which students will be able to minimize the risk. However, students may attend different workshops, seminars related to this market to accelerate the practical knowledge regarding this field.

"Risk comes from not knowing what you're doing." ~ Warren Buffet

Global capital markets pose the same kinds of problems that jet planes do. They are faster, more comfortable, and they get you where you are going better. But the crashes are much more spectacular..............Yes Tanzina Madam I have learning a lot about those that i get something..........
