Under-fire Pakistani Test and ODI captain Misbah-ul-Haq has denied suggestions of a revolt against his leadership by his team following their poor performance against South Africa in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Misbah''s position as one-day captain was seen as under threat after Pakistan suffered a 4-1 ODI defeat in the UAE, but he will retain the position for a short series in South Africa.
According to The Dawn, Misbah denied suggestions that the team lost because some players had revolted against his captaincy, saying he believes that he has been honest with them and has helped them, adding that he can only expect dissent from the players, if he had done something bad against them.
Defending his captaincy style which has been widely criticised as too defensive, Misbah further said that every player has his own style, adding that although former skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq''s general posture was never aggressive, he however, had scored sixes and was an aggressive batsman, like him.
Misbah, whose 1,119 runs makes him the highest scorer in one-day cricket this year, refused to accept criticism of the pace at which he scores his run, saying that he is happy with his strike rate.
