China linked to South Korea cyber-attacks

A large-scale cyber-attack that crippled banks and television broadcasters in South Korea came from an internet address in China, a preliminary report has revealed.

At March Hackers paralyzed the computer networks of five South Korean banks and a media company in an attack immediately suspected to have originated in North Korea, which has issued increasingly threatening rhetoric against its southern neighbour in recent weeks. Officials in Seoul said this morning that they had traced the malicious code that infiltrated its servers as coming from a Chinese IP address, although they said that it was too early to identify the exact source.
