U-19 one-day match deferred
« on: December 08, 2013, 09:42:05 PM »
The under-19 one-day cricket match has been deferred by a day, as the West Indies team did not show up in the field due to security concerns.

The match will now be held on Monday.

The second one-day match was slated for Sunday in the Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.

Several homemade bombs had exploded in front of Hotel Agrabad, where the West Indaian team is putting up, on Saturday night, CMP Deputy Commissioner (Sadar) Masud-ul-Hasan said.

The visitors decided not to leave the hotel on Sunday morning fearing for their safety, he said.

The team refused to change its decision even after having talks with the Bangladesh Cricket Board and police officials, forcing the rescheduling the match on Monday.

In the first of seven one-day match series, the Bangladesh under-19 team beat West Indies by 104 runs.
