How to be a popular teacher
bidita:
I like a teacher who gives you something to take home to think about besides homework. ~Lily Tomlin as "Edith Ann"
In teaching you cannot see the fruit of a day's work. It is invisible and remains so, maybe for twenty years. ~Jacques Barzun

The responsibilities of a general teacher are well defined which are as follows:
1. Instructing students
2. Checking scripts
3. Preparing questions
4. Invigilating in the exam hall
5. Counseling and guiding students
6. Managing class rooms
7. Managing students
8. Doing research work
But the tasks of a person in the administration are multifarious.....the responsibilities may change from time to time....
So, it's difficult to become both a good teacher and a good administrator.
Over to all for comments.....
bidita:
i think very very few people can be good teachers and administrators as well......though i am student, i think working in administration is very hasslesome though everywhere there is hassle....
bidita:
An administrator has to attend meetings and organize programs. At the same time if he or she takes class, sometimes, he/she cannot maintain quality. Quality needs attention, preparation and devotion.
shibli:
Life is a continuous chain of experiences. These experiences are both good and bad but both help us live a more educated and productive life. Experience is a key ingredient to success on the job. Although balancing teaching and administrative work among other things can create a large workload, the reward in the end can be huge.
