Is not wool mysterious?

The steps in the formation of the wool polymer are not known. So the amino acid is considered the repeating unit of wool. As a result, it is not possible to determine the extent or degree of polymerization for wool.

The wool fiber consists of a number of macro fibrils each about 100-200 nm in diameter. The macro fibrils are held together by a protein matrix.  Each macro fibrils consists of hundreds of micro fibrils, each about 5nm in diameter. Each micro fibril consists of eleven photo fibrils about 500nm in length and 2nm in diameter. Finally, each photo fibril consists of three wool polymers, which also spiral around each other.
