HOPING FOR 'DIU MARKET PLACE'

Dear Sir & friends,

I am thinking about DIU should have a DIU common marketplace. Now people can think what is it or what is for?
Actually it would be looked like a forum. In here only the DIU students will be able to post their post for advertisement.
Now what kind of advertisement or what's for?

Basically we face different kinds of problems during our semester period or student life. Among of them we became confuse
about buying book as well as anothe most common problem is acoomodation problem. Now in DIU Market Place we will be able to
post 2nd hand books after finishing our semester and for sharing accomodation.

In addition through this marketplace we could contract with the students and able to buy books at the begining of the semester
at a chesper rate due too having 2nd hand books as well as we will be able to solve our accomodation problems like DIU students
can post to share accomodation with other DIU students and it will be comfortable for students because of having same Uni. In
future we can expand it to other goods and products.

Now I need some feedback about this idea from my teacher and DIU friends.

Actually Rajib, it sounds like common notice board, but it actually is a sound idea regarding commercial activities within the university itself. But the 'market' should only consist the products that may fulfill the educational needs as well as the 'basic' needs of a student. For xmpl- if a student wanna sell his nokia 3500 mobile, and buy N93 at a cheaper rate then that should not be allowed. More than that, the facilities should be appropriate not much cheaper than the just market price or much higher than the just market price. But most importanty, we have to think a way to motivate the buyers specially the sellers. Because, why they should sell the products or facilities at cheaper rate when they can sell it somewhere else where they can heavily bargain? We have to think this first...

I already said this service is only for DIU regular students  and only & only the DIU regular students  will be able to post their post and sell things.

In addition, students must have to log in there by DIU E-mail and passward. Furthermore, there will be administrator who control the whole system that other local publis could not use it. 

And I also want to point out that it will be only for 2nd hand goods which will be only for DIU students and further goods and products, it' s for extension and must be 2nd hand. it will be not use for commercial business. After posting the advertisement they will be able to negotiate about the prize through contract no .

I am sorry Rajib but I'm not convinced with your last post... I have suggested 2 points and asked for clearification about your idea in my last point, i.e. how can we motivate sellers to sell their facilities in our DIU market? Which I think is most important. For example- Suppose, a book's fair 2nd hand market price is 150tk. and he's suppose to sell it in our DIU market. But if there is no motivation to him from DIU market, he would think that, why dont I bargain with a bookshop and sell it on 170 in Nilkhet? So my main issue is, to attract/motivate the sellers in some fruitful way to transact in DIU market. Our forum itself is a good example of this sort of motivation. (although this is non-financial) Many of us write in forum just to get a certificate from the authority or write "very informative post", "thank you" etc just to become a junior member from newbie or from jr. member to sr. member etc and it goes like that, just to have promotion of position. I think u understand what my point is...

First of all i would like to say it is not a profitable market place. It is just a way where students can fine to buy 2nd hand book.
I have already told that they could negotiate through online chat or by the cell phone  .

For sellers, DIU market place wiil be a smart way to sell their books in a smart negotiation. Sometimes we do not have enough time
to go to Nilkhet to sell the 2nd hand books and also carry such a huge books togather. So DIU market place is a smart place to sell them.
After better negotiation with the buyer, he could bring it during the class day and i think it is also a good way make good relationship with
other students beyound the only class room students. And i want u to make statistic that most of the students in your class have not sell their previous
semester books only because of do not have time to go to Nilkhet to sell it or did not fine a smart way to sell other junior DIU stunents because of
lack of communicaton or a smart way.

Secondly, in here there will be lots of post for the same books with different prices. So they will be able to campare those
prices and also able to get a good idea about what will be the effective price. In addition, before they buy the book at the
begining of semester they will do search in the market place due to get price idea and i think it is a great promotion for them
and it is also a great idea to buy 2nd hand book rather than but a new book.

Rajib, I am sorry but yet I'm not convinced with your perception. Your idea sounds more like social welfare than an active market. You see, you want to make good communication with seniors and juniors by non-profit transactions. You also wanna make a tender type of approach to transact the products. This is book you see, the sellers will sell their books to the buyers who would make higher bids. So this thing does not make much sense, to me at least. And I would say that, the students who do not go to Nilkhet to sell books are doing it just because they feel lazy, not because they don't have time. Another reason is, some of them keep these books to serve as references. Now talking about carrying the books and selling at higher price, I wanna give you an example. Suppose, you live in Wari, you wanna buy a big Ruhi fish, but when you see that the local market cost is 400tk. then you'd definately go to Thataari Bazar, where you would be able to buy it at 350tk. Here you're taking some trouble to buy the thing at lower cost. So, I will still stick with some motivational stuffs that'd influence the sellers to sell their commodities at DIU market.

i have already told lots of time that it is only & only for 2nd hand gods. but u r talking about the new books. people will not have option for bidding. the only can do negotiation and there will be other advestisement for the same book. students will be able choose which one is best for prise. if someone charge high price, ultimately fall down due to lack of demand.

Dear Friends,

I like to share about accomodation facilities through DIU marketplace. We the DIU students who live in share accomodation or share apartment will be able to great facilities. For share acoomodation we have to rent a flat by four or five people. So in this situatuion we can add post in here who is interest to live share accomodation and it will be able to rent flat.

In addition, sometimes one of room mates leave the house and that time we face lots of problem to fine new room mates for replacement. In this situation, they can easily post a add in this marketplace in details and fine out for room mates.

Innovative,Interesting..........But some lacking in the term of procedure.............When a market establishes, some motivation is needed to confirm the possibility or the advantages...........so try to find "What will be the motivational purpose?"

Thank you for your suggestion...... I have already written about the advantages in reply 5 & 9. you can read it out. I just like to add it that people can sell their 2nd hand books in Nilkhet, but DIU marketplace is the most smart way where you can sell your 2nd hand books through internet which is so easy rather than go to Nilkhet westing your time and money. on the other hand in term of renting accomodation or share houses or flat, i think it will play a vital role especially for the DIU students.

Dear BBA'ers, although I have suggested about some stuffs but we should know 1 thing and that is an innovative idea is not always 100%. We have to make it and respect and boast up an initiative, like Rajib's one. We should bear in mind that our suggested DIU market is one of a kind. No university in BD has an proposal like this. So 4 d sake of DIU and for the love, we should participate in d initiative.
