Meanings:
1. Disheveled : very untidy
2. Dissertation: a long piece of writing written for a university degree
3. Doctrinaire: strictly following a theory in all circumstances
4. Dismay: worried, sad feeling after receiving an unpleasant surprise/to make somebody feel shocked
5. Diverge: to separate and go in different directions.

'emaciated' means thin and weak, usually because of illness or lack of food.

3.Frill = decorative border on a dress
4.fritz =  ?
5.fringe = hair hanging over the overhead

2.frigid: cold, frosty, chilly, glacial.

Infact, the word 'fritz' is a part of the idiom 'on the fritz' that means 'not working'.

Example sentence: The TV is on the fritz again.

3. cold-shoulder : to treat somebody in an unfriendly way
