Awry means distorted or crooked. Example sentence: He held his head awry, giving the impression that he had caught cold in his neck during the night.

cassock means a long piece of clothing, usually black or red, worn by CHRISTIAN PRIESTS.

Generic is shared by, including or typical of a whole group of things, not specific. Example Sentence: 'Vine fruit' is the generic term for currants and raisins.
