 Terence Tao-কে জীবিত গণিত বিদ গণের মধ্যে সর্বশ্রেষ্ঠ ধরা হয়। প্রশ্ন হল Tao  কি Gauss, Cauchy ওদের কাতারে গেছেন ? কিংবা যাবেন ? একজন গণিতবিদ এর উত্তরে বললেন,
No, but it has very little to do with Terence Tao, and everything to do with the fact that the mathematical landscape has fundamentally changed.
