Education Minister hands over Scholarships among DIU Students

Education Minister hands over ‘the Razia Begum Scholarship’ and ‘the Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman Scholarship’ -2010

Nurul Islam Nahid MP, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Education, Government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh, is handing over the Razia Begum Scholarship to Papon Shaha of BBA Program. Mr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, BOT, Emeritus Professor Dr. Aminul Islam, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman and Professor M. Shajahan Mina, Advisor to the Chairman, BOT are also seen in the picture.

DIU is assisting its students in different ways, unlike other facilities DIU is offering highest number of scholarships and financial grants to the students.
 
From the year 2010 DIU introduced two scholarships patronized by two devoted personalities. They are Professor Dr. Aminul Islam and Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman.
 
The names of the scholarships are Razia Begum Scholarship for the student of Faculty of Business and Economics.

Late Razia Begum is the mother of   Professor Dr. Aminul Islam and daughter of Late Noaz Ali, Inspector of Schools. She was highly accomplished and praiseworthy lady for her pleasant, amiable disposition, good fellow feelings and admirable manners.  She took proper care of her four sons and a daughter who became notable person in their careers. She was born in 1920 in a village of comilla and passed away in 1946.
 
Another Scholarship is the Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman Scholarship by the name of our honorable Vice Chancellor.

Mr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, BOT, Emeritus Professor Dr. Aminul Islam,  Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, and Professor M. Shajahan Mina, Advisor to the Chairman, BOT are also seen in the picture

This scholarship is entitled for the students of Faculty of Science and Information technology.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid distributed the Scholarship among the recipients on the grand occasion of Laptop Distribution Ceremony on July 16, 2011 at DIU Auditorium.

Obviously basing the students with best result are considered to be the recipient of these Scholarships.
