Department of Development Studies, Daffodil International University has organized a farewell ceremony on 26th April, 2018 for the outgoing students of 2nd Batch at Dhanmondi campus. The event was enlightened by the presence of Professor A.M.M Hamidur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Science; Professor Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Director of International Affairs and Md. Fouad Hossain Sarker, Head, Department of Development Studies who shared their inspiring words of wisdom with the students of the department. The honorable speakers acknowledged the enthusiasm shown by the international students who came all the way from Somalia for getting quality education in Bangladesh. Their inspirational speeches articulated the value working all former and present students as lifetime ambassadors of DIU.

The 2nd batch students of MDS program were greeted with flowers and each of them were provided with a crest and a souvenir as a token of appreciation. Moreover, they enjoyed the opportunity to share their thoughts and experiences during their stay here in DIU. Along with the students, the respected faculty members - Mr. Rafi Al Mahmud, Senior Lecturer; Ms. Sharmin Sumi, Lecturer; Mr. Shoukot Ali, Lecturer; Mr. Niamot Ali Enayet, Lecturer; Mr. Kazi Rabiul Islam, Lecturer; Mr. Mansur Hossen, Lecturer were also actively present who contributed with their speeches and performed in the cultural segment of the event.

Department of Development Studies believes in keeping in touch with all its former and current students while building and maintaining a strong regional & international network. An event such as this is a yet another step towards cultivating a stronger sense of ownership where students are nurtured and cared as a member of one giant big family. The attendees thoroughly enjoyed and found to be in cheerful mood with utmost fun, excitement and joy all through the event.
