Student-teacher gap

The teachers should always try to reduce the communication gap with their students. Sometimes our students feel hesitate to share their problems. We should study our students to get their views. When we can ensure their trust on us only then we can solve their problems.

In Bangladesh we emphasis on degrees and results but in developed countries like in England, i have seen people value on skills; how skilled a person is and how creative he or she is to carry out or perform a specific job are judged, no matter how educated or less educated he or she is. That is the reason why so many right people in Bangladesh are not in the right places.

Teacher as Leader

The teacher should demonstrate subject-matter content, pedagogical and professional knowledge
necessary to ensure that students learn.

1. The teacher demonstrates an understanding of content knowledge.

2. He/she demonstrates knowledge of development as a foundation for understanding
behavior and learning.

3. He/she demonstrates knowledge of effective communication across broad audiences.

4. He/she demonstrates knowledge of technology and its appropriate integration into
professional practice.

5. S/He demonstrates an understanding of social justice which includes how diverse
cultural, ethnic, socioeconomic, gender, and exceptionality issues affect student learning and
education.

6. The candidate demonstrates an understanding of theory and research related to curriculum,
instruction, and assessment.

7. The candidate demonstrates knowledge and understanding to effectively design, implement,
and manage educational environments.

The teacher should facilitate learning through the demonstration of effective strategies based on
knowledge of content, pedagogy and professional best practices in diverse settings to ensure that
students learn.

3. The teacher should effectively communicate across broad audiences.

4. The teacher should employ a variety of technologies into professional practice.

6. The teacher should implement appropriate curricula, and employ suitable instructional practices

It’s really a very important thing, Nusrat madam. According to my point of view, communication is the most effective way to solve any problem. We should work to reduce the communication gap between teachers and students.

Every teacher should get equal opportunity to be involved with extra-curricular activities with students to build a good relationship between teacher and student.

Do you have any particular suggestion to get each teacher involved with extra curricular activities? Not all teachers are interested in extra curricular activities. Some teachers have responsibility at home to carry out. So they cannot be involved even though some of them are interested in. On the other hand, some of them may take offense if they are forced to do so. However, i do agree with your idea that each teacher should be involved in extra curricular activities. It should Not be like that once a teacher is involved in an activity, he or she is supposed to do it always. Each should be given the opportunity by rotation..

Can anyone of you give me any good suggestion on how to deal with students on counseling? I hardly get time to say my prayer and eat lunch because students are coming in battalions all the time though they are told to come in specific time. I feel totally exhausted and tired with counseling students sometimes. Any suggestion that can gear me up!

I think a good teacher is a good psychologist as well.He or she can read out what is going on inside his/her students' minds.Sometimes individual students are found not attentive in class.In such cases teachers can call up them personally and then can frankly discuss their problems.
